Construction for the library’s new location is underway at 33 Jones Road. Library volunteers have raised almost $100,000 through grants, individual donations, and fundraisers. We continue to raise money to complete the new construction and relocation. Soon we will have more space, additional programs, and bathrooms!
The South China Public Library, established in 1830, is one of the oldest libraries in Maine. The library is located at 247 Village Street in South China, near the shore of China Lake. The library is operated by volunteers and offers children’s programs, a book club, a large print collection, audiobooks, public computers, and 24/7 wifi access.
