Directions to use our online catalog:
This brings you to our searchable online catalog. The drop box on the upper left shows several ways to search. For example, you can search on All Words, Author, Title or Location. If you use Author or Title, the spelling and wording must be exact. All Words allows more flexibility.
Location is also a convenient filter. Some specific locations you might want to search are:
jFic for juvenile fiction;
E for picture books;
ER for easy readers;
Audio-A, audio books for adults;
Audio-C, audio books for children;
Maine for Maine authors and books about Maine;
Bio and j Bio for biographies;
F for general fiction for adults.
If you are looking for nonfiction, try entering a subject.
You can also sort your results using the drop box on the top right. If you are looking for newer materials, you could choose Newest to Oldest.
For each book, look to the right side of the screen. Holdings indicates the number of copies owned by the library. Available shows how many copies are currently in the library.
For example Holdings: 1, Available: 0 shows that we have the book but it is checked out.
